In the French edition Calculus says that they were landing in the crater Hipparchus. (Incidentally, The French for crater is 'cirque', hence Haddock winds the Thom(p)sons up about becoming clowns).

The English language edition has the slightly less precise "almost beside the Sea of Nectar", actually quite far from the crater but a much easier way of turning the clown joke into one about Punch and Judy men.
