Tintin in the Congo: What sort of chair is Tintin carried in?

This question is for those of you that have Tintin in the Congo. On page 21 (of the color edition) the Babaorum people are carrying Tintin in some kind of elevated chair with poles. Does anyone know what that is called? ... Does it have a name?

Thanks,

A primitive palanquin, perhaps?

A sedan chair.
