Pithecanthropus:
That being said, Marlinspike is not all he owns, and I'm sure he left things to the FAMILIES of his friends, even if they were to perish with him.

But would he know who their families are? Tintin's family might as well be nonexistent and instead he popped up randomly one day for all we know. As for the Professor, I get the feeling that if he had any family it would be a distant cousin, or nephew.

What family? None of them seems to have any. In fact, apart from Alcazar's wife, hardly anyone in Tintin has any family (the execrable Jolyon Wagg excepted, of course).

I think he would leave his things to Tintin and Calculus, after all they are his dearest friends in the world

I like the idea of him leaving some of his possessions to the Marlinspike cat. =3 He must have other friends or relations of some sort - I don't think Archie likes the idea of his family losing Marlinspike again.

cigars of the beeper:
I'm doubtful that Captain Haddock would leave all of his things to Nestor because nestor is just a butler. He is a good butler, but I don't know if the Captain would consider him a friend.

When Nestor tests the whiskey in Tintin and the Picaros.
Nestor "To be honest sir, I was just checking if it was Loch Lommond"
Haddock "And your verdict, my friend?"

Haddock "And your verdict, my friend?"

Used in sarcasm and I should think a reproachful tone for drinking your employer's whisky behind his back.

He also vigorously defends him when accused in The Castafiore Emerald

During my last reading of "Destination moon", I wondered the exact same thing. Tintin and Professor Calculus would most likely have died too, if anything happened in space, so who did Captain Haddock will things too? I'm sure Nestor would have been remembered, but other than that? Yeah, maybe we also can assume, that he thought about Captain Chester. But I guess we'll never know...

I say probably Tintin..... or Nestor.....possibly Captain Chester? I think he would give most of his stuff to Tintin(even the marlinspike) since he's praticly like tintin's father.... Or he would give his stuff to Nestor, since Nestor has been so faithful to his job. Or, I think Captain would be fair enough to divide everything equally among them.
