Easy-peasy this...

In which book does Tintin watch Captain Haddock on a TV?

in Objectif Lune, p. 37 Tintin watches Haddock on a cctv screen while Archibald is training in the low-pressure chamber.

Apart from that, Haddock is also seen on tv in vol 714, and Captain is a star of cctv in Picaros, but neither time is Tintin watching.

Objectif Lune, p. 37

Well done mondrian, that is the correct answer! I hand the baton to you!

I always thought Haddock was seen through a simple window in that scene, because the two rooms are actually contiguous (see p.39)!

I thought that it was CCTV, but then I suppose that does stand for 'closed circuit television. But you did say 'on a TV' and not 'on TV'.

But you did say 'on a TV' and not 'on TV'.

What's the difference? Could then 'on a TV' match Sponsz watching Tintin on a CCTV screen while the latter looks at Haddock in the hotel room in Tapiocapolis, in Picaros (marsbar's answer)?

'on a TV' generally denotes that you are looking at a Television set.

'on TV' generally denotes that you watching a television channel, though maybe that's just me.

The TV could have been closed circuit. But how do we know that Haddock's exploits weren't broadcast across Syldavia on the Black Pelican Channel? ;)
