There are 9 different types of bird mentioned by name in The Castafiore Emerald.

Name 7 of them.

cuckoo ...... p.1, frame 2
barnacle .......p.2, frame 8
goose .........p.3, frame 2
nightingale...p.5, frame 12
parakeet........p.13, frame 4
parrot..........p.13, frame 6
owl..............p.15, frame 9
cockatoo.....p.19, frame 8
magpie........p.59, frame 4

TOTAL = 9 birds!

Excellent yamilah! 1 point to you.

However, barnacle wasn't one of them. It's a type of goose but it's not really a common bird name.

I'll give a clue for the last one. Haddock uses it to describe Castafiore's singing...

Must be the lark, p.19, frame 4. In the original version, no barnacles, no goose, no parakeet and no lark, but the owl is twice duplicated into 'chouette ou hibou' (p.15 & 54)...
And Milan is the French rendering for 'kite', the bird of prey...
