Two different Tintin characters seem to have been inspired by Italian poet Dante Alghieri (1265-1321) and quote -in two different books- the first half of one of his verses.

What does the full verse read?
Please mention at least one of the books with page, frame and character.

Might be time to give the answer:

- Dante's original full verse can be read in his Divina Commedia, Inferno, Canto III, line 9: Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate
see http://www.crs4.it/Letteratura/DivinaCommedia/Inferno/Canto03.html

- Mitsuhirato utters 'abandon all hope' in The Blue Lotus (p.56-C4, = 'abandonnez [donc] tout espoir' in the French version)

- The Grand Abbot of Khor-Biyong monastery utters a similar sentence in Tintin in the Tibet (p.50-A2).

As nobody was able to answer, anyone (except yamilah) may set the next question.
