Q213: You missed a bit!

The English translators did a very thorough job of anglicising the books - replacing signs, newspapers etc. with English alternatives. But because something slipped past them, where could we deduce that a character is a francophone based on the evidence that they apparently choose to write in French when rushed?

There's nothing else to suggest that the character is French, and in all likelihood it is just a simple mistake on the translators' behalves. But still - name the character, book and what it is the translators missed.

Would the character be Professor Phostle's colleague who hands him over lots of calculations written in French at page 6 of The Shooting Star?

Spot on, alvarolino! You can clearly read "années-lumière" and if you squint, you can see the accent on "accelération".

So a point to you, and the task of setting the next question!
