It is a bit late in the day, by Toutatis, but if you google:

patrouille de france asterix

then you should get videos of how they did it. The Patrouille de France is the French version of the Red Arrows.

Well worth watching, and we even get a cameo by Uderzo who must have enjoyed it in more ways than one since another of his great series, "Tanguy et Laverdure", is set in the world of jet fighters.
