And for the Tintinologist who hasn't quite everything...

Got an empty space on your wall, and 280,000 Euros burning a hole in your pocket?

Then why not bid for a painting by Hergé from the cover of Tintin in America?

Personally it isn't my favourite cover, so I'm going to pass this time... ;-)

Update: I see now that that was an estimate and the picture actually sold for 764,200 euros...

That would put a dent in your pocket money...

Blimey Charlie!

Puts my £35 moon rocket to shame!

I wish my paintings would go for that amount...

...but then I'd only squander it on more Tintin stuff ;)

It's all the more impressive when you consider the (presumably) most desirable items are part of the Studios Hergé archives. Of the other paintings in the same series as this one, I'd plump for The Blue Lotus but I guess I may not be alone. I can't imagine how much that would go for!
