Hi all,

I have the above "Book of the Film", in English, published by Methuen & Co Ltd, London in 1965, and would like your help in placing a value upon it. Kindly advise.

The book is in excellent condition.

Thanks & regards

I'm always reluctant to place monetary values on things, as it really is a matter of what someone is prepared to pay for an item at a given time, but in good condition, you should get something between £30-£50 for an average copy; on a good day, if the book is really good, you might get more.

We don't have figures on how many copies were printed, nor how well it sold, but a steady supply of second-hand copies to the market suggests that it isn't particularly scarce; prices asked in the past have often been much higher, but then they don't seem to sell, so the estimates have fallen (this may be because for many years the only way to experience the films was to read the books - now, with both films widely available on DVD and even blu-ray in some places, the books are less essential).

Hope this helps!
