I thought I would let you all know about a first edition Black Island with inscription and signature by Hergé, which is for sale on Brought to Book and looks in nice condition.
I can't obviously verify its authenticity. Maybe someone else could weigh in with an opinion?

This would be mine if I had a spare £2500. Anyone want to go splitsies...!?

I'm no kind of expert on authenticity either - so no-one should take this as any kind of endorsement or recommendation of the item - but the drawing, writing and signature have the right look and feel to my eyes, and I agree, it looks like a nice condition first edition.

Whilst £2500 seems a huge amount for a book, and out of my range (even going splitsies ;)), I guess since it includes a rather nice signed drawing by Hergé (assuming it's verifiable) it's not so extortionate compared to the prices you see tiny bits of Hergé artwork from the actual books selling for.

Yeah that seems legit. Signed English editions do seem rare, but it's expensive for sure.
