Hi, my name is Hervé, I'm 47 years old, I live in France. since my early age I read Tintin. My favourite book is the blue Lotus perhaps because I'm fascinated by China. Among many other things I'm learning Chinese now and I like to use the blue Lotus as a teaching book with my Chinese language partners. Tintin is very popular in China, thanks to Hergé to have built such a useful cross-cultural tool!

Hi everyone, new member here.

My name's Amanda 32 from the UK, happily married to my husband Aaron (who I also care for full time) I've only recently become part of the cult of Tintin, after playing the wii game, and then I had to check out the cartoon series, and then finally the books!

I'm not entirely new to Tintin, however as I do remember my school having a lot of the albums, which I was mildy obsessed with...

Haven't seen the new movie yet, but I'm liking the Jean-Pierre Tabolt films.

Not sure what else to say...I'm not good at introductions!

Glad to have found this forum though, it looks like a great place!

Hello,
I am a new member to Tintinologist.org; a long time "ghost" as it were on the forums before I decided to sign up.

Tintin has been a passion of mine since my childhood; in fact, it's hard to remember a time when there weren't Tintin books in my life.

In recent years, my interest was perked even more with the release of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets and following that, the infamous Tintin in the Congo. Since getting those two entries, I have gone to get Tintin and Alph-Art, so I now have all twenty-four adventures.

I have also bought Michael Farr's excellent Tintin: The Complete Companion, which has given me a whole new understanding of the world of Tintin and his creator, Hergé. From that, I got the black and white version of Tintin in America (I hope to get all the other black and white Tintin books translated into English in the future) and the original colour version of The Black Island.

All of this has helped give me an even greater appreciation of Tintin than I thought possible!

Welcome aboard, Colonel! The more ghosts and lurkers who join in, the more we find out about the world of Tintin and Hergé – which is always good!

Well, I'm 16. Although I'm quite new to this forum site, I'm already a Tintin fan (not much of a tintinologist) since I'm 12, long before the new movie. It was when my father introduced me to a Tintin book(I don't remember actually what the book is but maybe is the Crab with the Golden Claws because I do remember the shooting scene against the Berbers). To simplify, from then on I'd fallen in love with it.
I came from Malaysia so Tintin books is so exclusive and highly prestigious here. Actually, It's so exclusive you need to go the the high-end book stores such as Kinokuniya or MPH bookstore at Suria KLCC shopping mall, just below the twin towers! I mean is so hard to find an actual Tintin book you know!

By the way, the price for Tintin books in expensive here but as they said, "You need to break some eggs in order to make an omelette"

Obviously I speak Malay, English and a bit of Arabic(still studying you see).
We meet again from now on, Insha Allah(God Willing)

Hello from New Zealand, where Tintin is almost as popular as he deserves to be.

Though I'm a fan from childhood, I only just recently stumbled on a link in wiki leading to this site. (From wondering about the end of Alph-Art.)

As well as of the cat, I'm most certainly a fan of Snowy.

Hello, my name is Jan, I'm from Germany and I'm 14 years old. I discovered Tintin during the holidays in France with 10 years. At a flea market I found a Tintin-booklet in french. With my limited French knowledge I read it and I was enchanted. Since then I collect Tintin-books and merchandising-products.
