Hi, i'm David. I'm 17 and from Adelaide, Australia. I have been a Tintin fan since about age 5 when reading the books in librarys. I've read all the books (except for the Congo one) and used to own most of them, but they were lost when we moved house, Damn. At the moment I'm enjoying the DVD boxset very much and re-living old memories. Thats about it.

To 'Tintinrulz' - if you see a guy walking around Adelaide with a Tintin stencil on his skateboard, thats me.

Hi. Thought I would add myself here. My name is Duncan and I'm the very young age of 31. Never really been absent from the world of Tintin but taking more of an Interest again after buying the complete DVD set and gaining a Nephew! Completed my book collection when I was 18. Been reading Tintin (and Asterix) since I had a library ticket which was probably around 6. I used to Loan from the library and read them (well at 1st I just looked at the pictures) and then my Dad would 'borrow' them from me.

It was he that spotted and recorded Tintin and the Golden Fleece (I think it was this one) on BBC2 when I was around 10. Oh how I wish the VHS Tape hadn't got trashed sometime in the past.

Hi, I'm Paritosh, Parry for short! My first associations with Tintin began in the year 2001. I was 14 then. It was not through comic books that I got fascinated, bnut through the Tintin television series. Before that, I simply had no fascination for such comic books. After I watched two or three episodes, I told myself what a fool I was, not to have read a Tintin book throughout those years!
Well, although i haven't even read 5 Tintins (The number is four, actually). I have watched seemingly all episodes in the televised version. Yeah, I know it lacks a cerain something the books have.
The first book I read was in the same year, it was the Blue Lotus. I had borrowed it from my cousin after watching a few televised episodes. Afte that, Tintin became a little dormant in my life and my fascination in it was recently rekindled by me stumbling upon the Blue Lotus a few weeks back and reading it all over again. After that, I read Explorers, Red Sea Sharks and Picaros. Personally, Picaros is the best of the four I have read. It has a touch of clas and sophestication that sets it apart from the rest. The Blue Lotus is a completely different book by these parameters. I wish to read all books in the future and would love to see a modern day Tintin being published. Unfortunately, Hergé didn't want this to happen! Well, I hope i'll be back for more, till then its g'bye!

Greetings. My name is Stefan and I have got 23 years-old. I cannot say when I first saw a Tintin adventure although I am certain that it was on television, mid-90s. The franco-canadian series used to be broadcasted in Brazil every evening at 20h in a smaller channel called Cultura.

When I moved to Sao Paulo in order to take my major, it happened that, one day, three very old editions of 'Cigars of the Pharaoh', 'The Blue Lotus' and 'The Seven Crystal Balls' were being sold on the street. I got them all, even though they were not in a perfect shape. I remember the street seller saying that his son would miss the books for he was reading them just before. Maybe it was him that made some pencil marks on them (never mind).

I spent almost one year searching for the other titles. They are not very popular in Brazil, you know, and quite expensive if you buy them brand-new. Thus, I bought my entire collection from second-hand shops, all being old prints; even some early Portuguese editions, with a rather funny translation and the old-fashioned back-cover picturing Tintin and the book titles as in a list.

The last title I got was 'L'Alph Art' in French, while I was in Geneve. Certainly, I did not miss the chance to visit the Cornavin Hotel as well.

At present, I am completing my MA in Illustration/Animation in the UK, and these books have been a great support.

Hello folks! I'm a 36 year-old, currently going through my second childhood (or did I ever leave the first one?)

Having had all the Tintin paperbacks as a nipper, I'm currently rediscovering them all over again in hardback, at the rate of two a month, to replace the lost and tattered original copies from the 1970s. I discovered the wonderful world of Tintin forums and websites after I wanted to find some information about 'Alph-Art', and it seems to have kick-started my interest in European BD generally, and Tintin in particular!

Actually, 'Alph-Art' was becoming an obsession! I'd found an online copy of Rodier's version, and then spent several months using my rusty O Level French to translate it into English for myself. Of course, as soon as I'd finished, the new English edition was published! I can see now that I was pretty close in some areas of the translation, and not so close in others... Oh well!

It's great to discover that there are more than a few people out there who share my appreciation of the little fellow, and hope to be posting on fairly regular basis - that's if you'll have me ;)

Dear fellow members,

I'm not new to the website or the list just new on this forum list (I was a member of the defunct Cult of Tintin since '95). I live in Toronto and have been an avid fan of Tintin since I was a young girl. I collect virtually anything to do with Tintin which can really weird people out when they visit my apartment - a virtual shrine to the intrepid boy detective. When I'm not re-reading Tintin books or collecting Tintin stuff I'm a serious cyclist and ride with a local club in Toronto. My day job keeps me far too busy but I enjoy it and they pay me to do this, I'm a business researcher for a private management consulting firm - if they only new what I did on the side ....?

Anyway, that's the short version. Hope to contribute very soon.

Regards, 'the maid Irma'.

Many thanks for joining us, Irma. The Cult of Tintin lives and you can still find your name on our Contributors/Honourary Members list. :-)
