Recently, a Tintin installation was unveiled by students not inside, but outside Mother's Wax Museum, Kolkata, India. Among its special features is that it has fireproof coating that is washable and which does not fade under light. It is a novel initiative taken by a group of individuals, whose aim is to bring Madame Tussauds' Museum to Kolkata.

Moderator Note: Interesting, but we need to be careful here: is this an official event, or a fan initiative, done without permission? If the latter, then we have a problem, because, broadly speaking, it is fan art.
It's also difficult to understand their motives: why would putting Tintin figures outside one wax-museum encourage a second wax-museum to open in Kolkata? What advantage would their be for Tussaud's to open a branch there?

To the Tintinologist Team

Point noted. The museum is in no way associated to Mother Tussaud's and was built 4 years ago because Tussauds had no plans to expand to Kolkata and to act as a replacement. Please forgive any confusion.

The museum was inaugurated by Smt. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, so it apparently seems to be official. However, I am not so sure whether due permission was taken for the Tintin statue. I will surely contact them anyway and let you know at the earliest.
