Following a bit of argy-bargy between London, Paris and Brussels over the location, the Belgian Le Soir has revealed that the premiere of The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will be held in Brussels on the 22nd of October this year.

It is apparently to take place at the UGC cinema at de Brouckère, in the heart of the city.
From personal experience this a really nice multiplex, not far from the Metropole Hotel (virtually opposite) - I wonder where the after-event party will be?

Anyway, the story at the moment is that Brussels will apparently have an afternoon event, which a member of the Belgian Royal family will attend with Steven Spielberg.

Mr Spielberg will then travel to Paris for a second premiere that evening, London having fallen out of the race at some point.

Brussels is still apparently angling to get an exclusive event in the evening, rather than sharing the honours, so we await further details...

And rightly so it should be in Brussels - the heart of Tintin territory!
HRH King Albert and his brother the late King Baudoin are very keen Tintin fans - how could they not, be being Belgians?!

Is the public able to buy tickets to the premiere?

It depends on what kind of premiere you're going to attend.

If it's a closed premiere (which means only certain people are allowed to attend - e.g. competition winners, film crews or other people who are specially selected), then you can't attend unless you are specially invited, because, you see, this kind of premiere doesn't sell tickets.

Well, I suggest that we all stick to the global release dates which definitely will sell premiere tickets to the public :)

Great news!
Brussels is the apt place for the premiere screening.
Wonder whether Jean-Pierre Talbot, the original big-screen Tintin would be invited?
It would have been fabulous if Mr. Talbot had been offered a cameo role in the Spielberg adaptation!
