Slightly late in getting this news, but last year's Tintin film made its TV debut in India on September the 16th, promoted by the movie channel Pix as their "ovie of the Year". It was supported by a slew of TV spot ads, a competition to win a trip to the Hergé museum in Belgium, and cross promotion with sponsoring companies.

There's an aricle about the debut on exchange4media"s website:
Pix on marketing overdrive for Tintin's TV debutl

and you can see the adverts on the PixTelevision YouTube page.

I can't be certain, but was this the global TV debut of the film? Has any other channel carried it previously?

In its latest advert for Sky Movies HD, Sky tonight announced that Tintin: The Secret of 'The Unicorn' will be its Christmas headliner.
A time was not given in the advert but it did say "Showing from December 25th" in the information line under the film's name.

Australians will be lucky this month as the movie is also being shown on Foxtel Showtime Premier HD and non HD on November 27 and 28.
Enjoy!
