The Tintinologist Twitter feed has recently passed one thousand followers - if you are one of those, many thanks; if not, why not...? ;-)

To thank those who have already signed on, and to encourage more of those reading this site to do so, we are pleased to announce a prize give-away!

The kind people at the Rizzoli publishing-house in London have offered us one copy of the recently published Tintin: Hergé's Masterpiece which is the prize in our simple to enter draw.

Follow @tintinologist on Twitter, and you will find a message you can re-Tweet; doing so before the end of Sunday 8th November 2015 will put you into a draw to win the book.

Good luck! :-)

NB: Please note: your Tweets must be public, otherwise, although they will register as sent, and will add to the total of re-Tweets, your identity will be withheld from us, and we will not be able to identify you for the draw

The competition is now in its last few hours!

Entries have been brisk, and if you want to be in with a chance of winning a great prize, get your rocket-propelled Calculus-style skates on, and join in!

Good luck!

Thank you for the kind words, izzyabraham!

The entries will be checked and collated over the next couple of days, and I hope to be able to have a "celebrity" guest do the draw for our winner on Wednesday, so keep your fingers crossed!

The revolving Earth having now rung down the curtain on Sunday on Howland Island, means that it is now Monday the 9th of November 2015, no longer the 8th of November anywhere on our planet, and the competition is well and truly closed to entries!

Thank you to all who have supported it and circulated about it as well as entering it - it's nice to get the feedback, and even nicer to be able to do something in return!

Happily we now have a winner for the competition!

The draw took place at the launch of the new exhibition (also called Tintin: Hergé's Masterpiece) at Somerset House, and was made by none-other than Michael Farr, notable expert, writer and translator of the book we were giving as a prize.

In the presence of Sophie Liardet of the publisher Rizzoli, Michael put his hand into the bag of entries, and drew the name of Jodi Hill - to whom our sincere congratulations!

Thank you to all who joined in and entered, and commiserations on not winning this time.

Let's hope we are able to run another competition in the future!
