The BBC World Service radio series Witness has just broadcast a short programme devoted to Tintin.
Using the BBC sound archives they have included several very interesting contributions from Hergé himself, recorded in 1977 speaking to Gavin Scott, and combined it with a more recent interview by Lucy Burns talking to noted Tintinologist Benoît Peeters.

It can be listened to online via iPlayer, and also downloaded as an .mp3 podcast.

Really interesting short piece. How rare to hear Hergé speaking in English.

Yes, thanks for the heads-up on that piece, jock. I'd have missed it otherwise.

It was nice to hear, wasn't it? Although much of what he was saying has probably been quoted in biographies, either from this interview or similar ones, I'd never heard that interview broadcast before.
