Haha ! Me too ! What about , " Tintin in Bali " ?
Or , " Lost in Mount. Salak " ? Haha ! It would be like Sukhoi superjet 100 accident ! But the good part is.....Tintin and co survive ! Yaaaaay !!!

Moderator Note: In view of the fact that the Mt. Salak crash involved the deaths of all 45 passengers and crew on board the ’plane, please be aware that your comment could be thought upsetting or disrespectful by others. To say that a real life accident where everyone dies would be “like” a cartoon event where people survive is in very poor taste, and we would ask you not to do so again.

'Alph-art'. Pity we readers know not, firstly, what happens to Tintin in the end and secondly, what happens to the 'Tintin and Martine' relationship!

what happens to the 'Tintin and Martine' relationship!

There is no Tintin and Martine relationship in the Hergé book - that’s only found in the Rodier pirate version. Added to that, Martine appears to be a good deal older as Hergé drew her than Rodier suggests, so it doesn’t appear to have been his intention to make a relationship with her part of the story.

But yes, it would have been nice to know how he might have finished the book!

Another possible idea is a sports related story, perhaps Tintin investigating the corruption in football or possibly a story about the Olympics, maybe have an athlete accused of taking drugs and then winning a gold medal.

I think hands down the best book written is Tintin in Tibet....(I'm going to say right now I'm a huge slash fan even though the world of Tintin is one of asexuality) I like the emtional angst that goes back and forth between Tintin and the Captain and the obvious conflict in
both of their hearts which can be interpreted in the eye of the viewer.
I enjoy how the book actually ties into Remi's real life as he too was in serious emotional turmoil and at the same time he too missed his friend Tchang. (I would also suggest if you haven't seen the video with Herge and Tchang being reuinited at the airport, you should do so. It's such a powerful video it really saddens me Herge didn't make it much longer) I also think Tharkey is probably one of the most underrated secondary characters in the series.

This act of selfless heroism, and willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for someone you deeply care about is the greatest act of friendship....but to me it goes much deeper, there is love in my opinion which again is up to interpretation by individual basis.

I only wished Herge would have given Chang more adventures with Tintin. This book will always be close to my heart - reading this book gives me hope for humanity.

Hi, I am curious to find out what you would do if you were the Big Man (if you were living in, say, the fifties) to make in a new comic! Would it include the Thompson twins? Would Castafiore be in it? Where would it take place? What would happen?

I'm not sure about mine, but I'd make sure it was set in Belgium, and it would contain lots of gags and mysterious happenings… the Captain would get drunk a lot too!

Anyway, have fun

D :)

I'm really sad Herge didn't finish Alph'Art. I know the modern art world was dear to his heart. I'd add a little bit of the advertising world a la Mad Men and possibly have an art heist or too thrown in for good measure. Snowy would probably be kidnapped again.

Actually by the Fifties Hergé was making his stories less and less specifically Belgian, so that Tintin would be a more universal figure.
It wasn’t a complete resetting of the books, but he kept specific indications of Belgium to a minimum, and did some revision work, such as taking the sign off the front of the Metropole Hotel which had appeared in Seven Crystal Balls, to reduce the Belgian-ness.
