I guess that Tintin himself would just change in appearance: then a computer, a Harley...

Harley? I always thought of him as more of a Ducati rider.

Would Hergé have given Tintin some more technologically-inclined adventures? Perhaps seeking out a major spammer hideout or fighting against internet "pirates!"?

In my collection, I have a magazine titled "Tintin chez les savants" (Tintin and the inventors - not quite a literal translation, but it gives the idea). It describes how Hergé shown technology that is cutting edge for the time the story was originally written - a television set in Black Island, a battery operated radio in Tibet, etc.

Another book I have studies the structure of the stories, and points out how often the background information is given through "objective documents" - i.e., books, newspaper articles or other printed material the characters consult, which talks about the world outside the actual frames of the stories. (For example, the encyclopedia article on the Arumbaya indians in Broken ear.)

Given these two aspects, I have no doubt that, if Hergé was writting in the last half of the 20th century and/or present days, modern technology would be featured in the stories - for example, Tintin doing a google search on a subject. The characters would use "smart" phones who still would not know how to route a call to the butcher shop properly. The Castafiore's recording would be on CD rather than vinyl.

As for the plots, I won't speculate, but I'm sure the events of the past 30-40 years would be transposed into the stories.

It would actually make a change if Tintin was to try and champion democracy.

In most of the stories in which he gets involved in matters of state ("Broken Ear", "Land of Black Gold", "Red Sea Sharks", "Picaros") he's more the sort to support dictators like Alcazar or Ben Kalish Ezab who are pretty tyranical and twisted even if they do appear to be charming.

Oh, and Haddock could set up a website, MarlinspikeHall.com, to show off his Martime Gallery ("Red Rackham's Treasure") but it constantly redirects to CuttsTheButcher.com.

Brilliant that's the best one.

Tintin seemed to like his motorbike. Wonder if he would upgrade to a Harley. :D

I don't think Harley suites his active nature and mobility, since it is quite a big bike, and not so maneuverable. I think I prefer him upgrading to BMW motorcycles (or Ducati can be another option, of course :D).
tintinspartan:
Well, for tintin's pants, I believe it's the skinny jeans

I can't picture Tintin wearing skinny jeans though, I prefer him wearing normal jeans (which are not too tight on his legs XD). I wonder which color of the sneaker will suit him, maybe red or brown, I think it depends on his clothes color scheme.
And I definitely agree that he'll own a laptop and a cellphone, and I just have imagined that his cellphone is iPhone, which might give a hint to this question :
Katherine:
Oh, here's a good question: What would they all prefer? Mac, Windows, or Linux?

Tintin might prefer Mac, if he indeed use an iPhone (although he doesn't really need Mac for its iTunes, he can use Windows and download iTunes for Windows). Calculus in another hand, might enjoy using Linux (remember that Linux is open sourced so that anybody can tweak its system freely). Calculus might enjoy developing a new distro for Linux :D. As for Haddock, I have a nagging feeling that he uses Windows XP, and it suits him XD.

Anyway, I think that Tintin will definitely travel a lot more often, and he'll travel more with airplanes (hopefully Snowy can be still easily accompany him, since bringing animals in travel today is a trickier business compared in the 30s to 70s). He might be able to do some hacking, perhaps he'll do this in his adventures in 21st century, when he need to tackle his enemies in a building with an integrated computer system (he'll hack the computer system for tricking his enemies, like locking his enemies in a room or vault, closing doors so his enemies would stuck while chasing him and so on).

All the characters have facebook pages (which are fun to think about)and they've all had to block Joylon Wagg because he won't stop commenting on everyone's photos/statuses and sending random invites.

Tintin gets caught up with the Bilderberger group. Tintin fight piracy in Somalia and genocide in Darfur. Drug smuggling in Latin America in another possibility. Instead of the moon, they head to Jupiter.

Tintin's Mom, you have some great ideas but those are just a little too disturbing for the Tintin universe.

Ladybird, that's hilarious!

Castafiore would be...a young, hot pop artist?
Tintin would get a girl.
He'd meet Will and Kate.
He'd solve the Da Vinci code even before Langdon gets out of bed!
He'd run into terrorists.

I just pictured Haddock getting an iPad, getting confused as to how to operate it (as most oldsters do) and barraging Siri with his colourful curses. And of course, Tintin helps him out (he kinda rehabilitated the guy in CWGC, so this would be pretty easy).
It doesn't matter how Tintin knows what to do; he drives car and pilots/crashes airplaines and whatnot.

Also if he were living in the 21st century, he'd know how to beatbox, play the electric guitar and surf, because he's awesome.
