One of my favourites is when Mitsuhirato of "The Blue Lotus" keeps increasing the number of "suffering samurais" from a "suffering samurai" (from when he captures Tintin at the railway explosion) to the "seven hundred suffering samurais" (after the incident with the bearded consul).

In the French books Tintin says 'Sapristi!' a lot. It's quite an old-fashioned word, and I think the English equivalent is 'Great Snakes!'.
