"Waltzing with Tintin": A blogger remembers Michael Turner

A very nice personal reminiscence of the late, great Michael Turner has just appeared on a blog, written by a gentleman named Gareth Powell, who knew him for many years through their connection in the book-trade.

You can read the piece here, and it is well worth the time, if you want an insight into the man that brought much of the world of Tintin and Hergé to the English-speaking public.

The memory of just how very hostile some people at Methuen were to the very idea of publishing a foreign comic strip is interesting. As is his mention of Hergé's female twin assistants, whom I'm not sure I've seen mentioned before. Do you know who they were?
