I have never thought about things in this manner before! I always saw Tintin as being pulled not by people but by events (before the Thompsons were really active in the Adventures, who lead Tintin to America, the Soviet Union, and Congo? It looked like various unexplained events lead Tintin in that direction). Most views of Tintin that I know of suggest that these events serve as a calling for him, not as if someone was guiding him.
