The scenes which takes place at the train in the book are moved to an airport in the Belvision-version. Apart from Tintin and Haddock, the Thompsons are present as well. Tintin & Haddock hide in postal bags to get on the plane, but Haddock is left on the ground. Tintin stows away in the airplane and then jumps with a parachute when they reach the British coast. He almost lands in front of a train on a railroad but everything works out fine (of course).

Other changes involve a white-haired Doctor Müller and an angular tower at the Black Island. In the end, the Thompsons arrive with police helicopters, climbing down to the tower via ladders.
