Recent tweets on Twitter by French radio station France Culture have teased the public with mentions of recording sessions and musical rehearsals involving Cigars of the Pharoah, and now Le Figaro has published an article which reveals all about the new production, being made for the network by members of the prestigious Comédie Française theatre company.
Starring Noam Morgensztern as Tintin, and Jéremy Lopez as Snowy, the five-part serial should be broadcast in September, to be followed by a further adaptation of The Blue Lotus.
France Culture has already had success with the broadcast of archival recordings of The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun, which were made in the 1950s with Maurice Sarfati as Tintin, and if these "new" adventures are like those, then they will be a real treat for Tintinologists!
