I am a long time fan of Asterix and Tintin but have only recently come around to discovering the treasure trove that European comics are. I am on a quest for Franco-Belgian as well as Dutch and Scandinavian comics published in English and am looking for some information in this regard.

Apart from Asterix and Tintin, I am aware of the following titles in English

Jo, Zette and Jocko (Have 5 of 5 titles published)
Iznogoud (Have 1 of 8 titles published)
Leonardo (Have 3 of 4 titles published)
Clifton (Ordered 2 of the 2 titles published)
Lucky Luke (Have 3 of ? titles published)
Ompa-Pa (Have 1 of ? titles published)
Bob and Bobette/Spike and Suzy (Have 5 of ? titles published)

I would be grateful if I could get pointers to other titles in English as well as the complete list of Lucky Luke and Ompa-Pa titles published.

Did Herge's Quick and Flupke make it to English?

Also, would someone know what titles were published by Dargaud in English apart from Asterix, Iznogoud, Lucky Luke, Leonardo and Beetle Bailey.

Please pardon me if these questions have been asked on this forum in the past.

Thanks,
Gopal.

Two of the twelve books - Double Trouble and Two of a Kind were released in the early 90s.

Also, would someone know what titles were published by Dargaud in English apart from Asterix, Iznogoud, Lucky Luke, Leonardo and Beetle Bailey.

Dargaud also translated and published four of the Valérian: Spatio-Temporal Agent series in the early 1980s - World Without Stars, Welcome to Alflolol, Ambassador of the Shadows and Heroes of the Equinox. Long out of print but copies pop up fairly regularly on eBay, Amazon Marketplace, Abebooks and the like.

iBooks in the US also recently translated and published another three Valérian albums - On The Frontiers, The Living Weapons and The Circles of Power - in an omnibus edition titled Valerian: The New Future Trilogy. As far as I know this is still in print. Annoyingly though, they've shrunk the pages down from the standard BD size to US comic book size.

Also in the US, Catalan Communications published four of EP Jacobs' Blake and Mortimer albums in the early 90s - Atlantis Mystery, Time Trap, Papyrus of Mathenon and Chamber of Horus.

I think some Yoko Tsuno books were released in English as well.

Thanks a bunch for the information! Sorry, I missed the Blake and Mortimer series. I do have two of the four - Atlantis Mystery and Time Trap. Wasn't the Yellow M also published in English?

I think that was published by Éditions Blake & Mortimer, so it's probably of a higher quality than Comcat's publications. A copy was sold on eBay a couple of months ago, if I remember right.

This thread might be of interest regarding Leloup's Yoko Tsuno books in English.

I once had a list of these, but I've misplaced it unfortunately. Off the top of my head I recall that they published a single Blueberry book (Man with the Silver Star) and a bunch of Kelly Green books. To be honest, I'm not sure if the latter weren't original American books anyway.

They also published Walter Melon, maybe a single volume of that, plus The Vagabond in Limbo, which I think is the name of a series rather than an album.

Lucky Luke (Have 3 of ? titles published)

So far as Lucky Luke is concerned, in English there's: Jesse James; The Stage Coach; Dalton City; Western Circus; The Dashing White Cowboy; Calamity Jane; Ma Dalton; The Tenderfoot; The Dalton Brothers' Analyst, and; The Dalton Brothers Memory Game. Doubtless there are a few more out there as well (there might be more in here also, but my bookshelves are a mess...)

Ompa-Pa (Have 1 of ? titles published)

Five Ompa-Pa books that I know of: Ompa-Pa and Brother Two-Scalp; Ompa-Pa Saves the Day; Ompa-Pa and the Pirates; Ompa-Pa and the Secret Mission, and; Ompa-Pa and the Prussians.

Additionally there's a dual-language book on Asterix (Asterix La Ricetta Della Poizione Magica - Italian and English throughout) that reprints the first version of Ompa-Pah (or Oompah Pah as it's referred to) with a translation by Harvey Kurtzman. The strip is from 1951.

Are there Europe-based dedicated online stores for used comics/graphic novels?

Not that I know of. Your best best is to do (what I imagine) the rest of us do - haunt Eaby, abebooks, and bookfinder.

After a few weeks of scouring the web, I would like to add to the above list, for the benefit of others who might have the same question.

Some other European comics in English that I discovered

Nestor Burma by Leo Malet and Jacques Tardi (Bloody Streets of Paris and Fog)
XIII
Pin-Up

The above are still in print.

Alix by Jacques Martin has two English titles - The Sacred Helmet and Black Claw but no longer in print nor available used.

If others have come across other titles, please do add to this list.

Thanks.
