I'm not even sure I can think of ten films (this sort of question always gets me tongue-tied), but if I had to make a list, it would certainly include:

His Girl Friday
Mon Oncle
Seven Samurai
To Live (the 1994 Chinese film by Yimou Zhang)
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Rio Bravo
Crimes and Misdemeanours
Miller's Crossing
Double Indemnity
Duck Soup

Hey! I made it! I actually thought of ten films! I even had to throw one out (High Noon). No Tintin on the list; I think all the adaptations are pretty awful, and I doubt Steven Spielberg is going to change that.
