Tintin in America: Why two different facsimile covers?

I was looking at the photos from the Herge Centennial Exhibition (on this site) and noticed that in the photo of the 4 facsimiles the Tintin in America pictured has different cover art than the facsimile Tintin in Americas I've seen.

Anyone know why this is?

Thanks,
Gabe

That's the original cover to the book, and at some point in the 1930s (sorry, haven't got a reference book to hand) Hergé redrew the cover images to Congo and America, presumably because they were drawn in the early style.

The current French and English facsimiles use the later images, all with the lemon-coloured covers, but in the 1980s the first French facsimiles used the original cover images, as did the English Sundancer edition of Congo.

Tintin in the Congo and Tintin in America were published with new covers in 1937, similar to the other Tintin books published by Casterman at that time (Cigars, Lotus, Broken Ear), to make a "uniform" collection.

When Casterman took over publishing in the 30's they got Hergé to redesign the covers for the b/w books.
The cover with the Native Americans was the original Petit Vingtième cover from 1932, the horse cover came from the 1937 Casterman edition.

The cover to Congo was also updated in the 30s, from the gouache painting of Tintin and Snowy to the familiar Ford Model-T picture.

I have been looking at facsimile listings for Tintin in America and some show Tintin on horse-back on the cover and others show Tintin eating out of a pan whilst being stalked by some menacing looking native Americans.
What is the difference?

In 1932, 1935 edition, Tiintin is sitting on a rock with Indian hidden behind a rock-white cover/red spine. The 1937, 1940, 1941 edition-Tintin on horseback-yellow or white cover/red spine. The 1942 edition shows tintin tied to a stake with indian in the foreground- this is the cover used to date.
