"A Town Called Panic": Film gives a nod to Tintin?

I have just watched the fantastic animated film, A Town Called Panic, based on the Belgian/Luxembourg/French cult TV series of the same name.

It stars three plastic toys - named Cowboy, Indian and Horse - who share a rambling house in a rural town that never fails to attract the weirdest events.

Cowboy and Indian's plan to gift Horse with a homemade barbecue backfires when they accidentally buy 50,000,000 bricks. This sets off a perilously wacky chain of events as the trio travel to the center of the earth, trek across frozen tundra and discover a parallel underwater universe of pointy-headed (and dishonest) creatures.

At the 42 minute mark there are some professors that look very much like Professor Calculus. Seeing as it's a French production I'm guessing it could be a nod towards The Adventures of Tintin.

If anyone has the DVD go and check it out.
