A new exhibition has been announced: From Le Soir, April 01, 2004:

"Saint-Gery Markets, within the heart of Brussels, is the place chosen by the Atelier d'Édition Millefeuilles to host an exhibition called Tintin et la ville (Tintin and the city). It will feature all cities of the world to which he traveled, but especially the one where he was born and lived, the essence of his life, Brussels."

It goes on to say that the exhibition has been staged with the full cooperation of Moulisart and the archive, which have provided photographs and reference material from their collection, as well as new research into the urban details of the books, such as the Uccle observatory The Shooting Star, the market-place in The Secret of the Unicorn or the Cinquantenaire and Tervuren museums in Broken Ear and Seven Crystal Balls.
It also describes that while allusions to Brussels and Belgium are overt in the early books, they are often more subtle later, like giving Tibetan monks exotic sounding names hiding more prosaic connections, such as Pôh-Prying (Poperingen, in Flanders) or Weï-Pyiong (Wépion, which is to the south of Namur).
The exhibition follows the life of Hergé, in Etterbeek, where he grew up - 25 rue Cranz, where Hergé was born, his childhood home in Rue de Theux, and la rue Philippe Baucq, with its street fountain Hergé drew in Sceptre, are all close to each other.
These are just a few of the places looked at in an exhibition, which, through the use of newly-crafted models takes the visitor from Tintin's flat, to behind-the-scenes at Marlinspike, and even promises a "real mirage"!

Tintin et la ville, from April 2, to June 30 at the Saint-Gery Markets; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Mondays.
Entry: 5 or 2,5 euros. 02/502.44.24.

Interesting ... I didn't know about Pôh-Prying or Weï-Pyiong!

I would recommend that at some time in your life (wherever you live), you make a pilgrimage to Brussels.
If Moulinsart continue with their plans, then it's very likely Brussels will see a permanent museum devoted to Tintin.
It's a valid criticism that the Belgians have been a bit slow to really exploit fully one of their most precious commodities - Tintin.
This is all set to change in the future, I think, and the prospects look good!

You must visit Brussels anyway but I am not sure that you'll find a Hergé Museum in this city.

The new museum will be in Louvain-La-Neuve, a university city built in the 1970s, 25km to the south of Brussels, if the Fondation Hergé has enough money to do it.
If you want to know which places related to Hergé and Tintin you should visit in Brussels, see this site
