who stole the idol from the museum? Tortilla or Balthazar?

Without the book at hand, I think that it is established that Tortilla stole the idol and got Balthazar to make a fake.

The Broken Ear will always be one of my favourite Tintin books. Even if the coloring is bad, I still really like it.
