I was looking for info on the Belgian comic series "Largo Winch" by writer Jean Van Hamme and artist Philippe Francq and I came across this: a couple of years ago, pages from a recent comic were exhibited underwater! In order to read them, you needed a diving gear since they were being shown in one of the deepest pools in Europe.

Click here for some photos and here for others.

Philippe Francq himself is reported to have swam underwater to read his own comic.

"Largo Winch" is a major best-selling comics series and well worth reading. Francq's artwork is wonderful, including beautiful landscapes and detailed cities. Some of the intricacies of the business world can be difficult to follow but they sometimes make more sense as the plot moves along.

The series tells of a young man who inherits one of the world's greatest conglomerates, a multi-billion dollar enterprise operating in almost every field of business. However, he is man of action who tends to prefer brawling to board meetings and although set in the world of big business the series includes plenty of drama and action, gunfights and escapes. Imagine it as Bruce Wayne operating without bothering to dress as Batman.

The series is available from Cinebook in English.
