Maybe the books are just good adventure stories in their own right...

Maybe they are more than 'just good adventure stories'!

...without references to any sort of psychobabble.

Psychobabble??
Do you mean there is no special connection between The Black Island and Flight 714??

yamilah is right to say "The dictionary definition for 'vehicle' implies it can be used for other types of vehicle". But it is a civilian aircraft and has no trait any. Do you think that a speedy plane has a trait? Confused.

A 'trait'= a distinguishing feature or quality, such as Carreidas 160's 'swing wings'.

There are several meanings. You could use "specific one" etc.

Of course, of course, but a "military trait" was a better clue, imho.

"no military trait" was a better clue and I also had a dictionary. You could do better if you did not send that clue "has a trait".

You could do better had you asked for precisions before the answer was given!
