I see the Tintin shop in London has stock of the 1st cars in the new 1/24th collection.

How many people will be getting these?

I already have all the 1/43 collection and I see this new 1/24 collection is also 70 cars which makes this a huge investment if you want the full collection.

Each car is £59.95 so the full collection is £4196.50!

I may buy the odd one or two but that will be it I think.

Just looked at the list on the Hachette website and they are only charging €39.99, that's quite a mark-up in London!

The difference between having, and not having, bricks-and-mortar premises and staff, and not factoring in postage and any taxes for the U.K. if you order direct, I imagine
Even looking at a few other on-line retailers on the continent gave prices between €50 and €75 (and I don't know if P&P was included), so the cost isn't that out of the ordinary.

But yes, the investment for a set is substantial!

I now have a few of these. They are awesome!
I will not buy all of them, but only a dozen or so that I like the most.

The difference in price that was mentioned might also have to do with there
being different releases. The ones I got came with a booklet that is in
two languages, English and French. The booklet is in landscape format and
they came packaged in a box. It seems that they are from an "international release".
The ones available in France (and Belgium?) from "Hachette" seem to have
a different version of the booklet (in portrait format; probably French only?)
and different packaging (shrink wrapped to a card).
I read that the Hachette versions are available in many newspaper stores
as well as by subscription. So maybe they are produced in higher numbers?
The thinner booklet (French only) and cheaper packaging might also help reduce the price?

Hello from a new forum member,
I have three of these superb cars.
I wonder, do most people keep them in their Perspex case or take them out of the case and display them freestanding?

Hello from a new forum member,

Hi, Spalding, and welcome!
I don't have any of this set, but I have a couple of the previous (Axis?) model cars, and I have always just left them in their perspex boxes - if nothing else, it makes them easier to dust!
