Russell Tovey was in My Family and Other Animals last Christmas, perhaps that’s getting a repeat or a sequel? He’s also in The History Boys so it could have been something to do with that, perhaps.

Nope...he looked like Tintin from Tintin In Tibet. Tintin hair, blue jumper and a red scarf around his neck.

Thanks for the thread. I don't think they are going to broadcast the stage show. Perhaps use clips in a documentary maybe. Might have been something to do with that Boys adventure thing. I wasn't really paying much attention to the telly when I saw the clip of the stage show. Maybe I dreamt it! lol

Didn't want to give people hopes they might see the stage show on TV. I honestly don't know what it was I saw and what it was for :o)

well maybe not a red scarf...but I saw a flash of red

According to Radio Times this *new* version of the film has a narration by David Suchet (who plays Hercule Poirot in the ITV series Agatha Christie's Poirot).

Also, I notice the title is different from the previous English version broadcast on POV (called "Tintin and I").

I haven't had a chance to compare yet, but Tintin in Tibet seemed to have been cropped to fit the widescreen picture, presuming it wasn't filmed in that format (a discussion of which is somewhere else on this forum). Nice to hear David Suchet in Tintin And Me, although I don't think they needed to overdub "Tchang!" with "Chang!". Apart from that, a good evening's TV!

Hot on the heels of the BBC's Frank Gardener investigating The Land of the Soviets, this Sunday at 7.00pm BBC Four is showing the documentary Tintin and Me which is described as "Documentary about Belgium's greatest boy detective and his creator Hergé, as related in a rare taped interview by journalist Numa Sadoul. Featuring groundbreaking animation in which footage of Hergé is synchronised to fit the audio interview, plus an interview with Tintin expert, the late Harry Thompson".
