I like the Thompsons and the skeleton conspiracy in "Destination Moon" and "explorers on the moon". They keep getting scared by seeing X-rays of each other and Think they are seeing a living skeleton. Finally on their search to arrest this skeleton, they end up in a doctor's office. The doctor, of course has a skeleton in his office. You see them walking out of the office with the skeleton handcuffed and they are holding it harshly by the shoulders. One of them says to it: "You need'nt pretend to be dead, my friend. you've had it this time!" And next, in "Explorers on the Moon," when they have tied up Jorgen and Wolff, and are interrogating them, one of them asks:"may we ask the prisoner a question?" and the other one says: "Yes, a vital question." they then ask Wolff: "Were you the skeleton, wolff? the skeleton?" and the captain says: Blistering barnacles! this is a serious interrogation! in other words, Stay Out!" Or something like that. if I think of any more, I won't hesitate to submit them.

What is the best line of dialogue from the Tintin books?

It can be from any character.

Not sure exactly how it was translated in English, but right now, my candidate for best line is one from Mr. Baxter: "That was the captain who just found his pipe"

Yes. Destination Moon. English version reads, 'Don't worry... Captain Haddock's just found his pipe.'

Off the top of my head, the Thompsons' discussion in The Castafiore Emerald when it turns out the gypsies are innocent. It's something like "The one time we manage to catch the culprits, they turn out to be innocent." / "You'd think they'd done it on purpose."

Good one, Richard! I don't get cigee's one though. Please elaborate as to who said it and why. Thanks.

Also from the Thom(p)sons in Emerald:

"No, our lips are sealed. We can't tell you it's the gypsies we suspect, even though we've suspected them all along."
