There are two versions of this facsimile: one which has "les Aventures du Tintin" on the cover all written on one line, and one with it divided into two lines.

I'm trying to find if there is perhaps some minor difference between the two of them?

So, if anyone has the 1996 facsimile with the two lines title, please tell me if on page 18, frame 2A, there was an empty speech balloon.

Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify:

I have both the B&W edition - with "les adventures de tintin" on two lines - and
the 1940s colour edition - with "les adventures de tintin" on one line.

Is there a colour edition with "les adventures du tintin" on two lines ?

If this helps:
wikepedia has a few details on the differences between the editions. You can find it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Island

Hello

Firstly, thanks for your reply.

There was a first patch on which they mistakingly used the two line title from the 1954 book, then they fixed it to the 1943 one line edition you have.

Please check covers # 12 & 13 here

Please open your colour 1940s book and look at the blue page at the back of the front cover. Is tintin missing parts of his arm and leg, and his horse mssing a part of his tail as in this photo, or are they full?

(link broken)

Then go to page 18, do you have an empty balloon like this, or it has text in it?

Thanks for your help.

They are in full.

The text is missing.

Cheers.

Thank you mct16. This sounds like a very interesting variation of the book.

Just to be absolutely sure there is not a missunderstanding: the 1940s coloured book you have is the facsimile edition printed in 1996, not the orignal book printed in the 1940. Right?

It is the facsimile edition printed in 1996.

Cheers.
