The Blue Lotus: Gibbons must have great hearing!

After Tintin leaves his office Gibbons hears Tintin's intended destination thru a window and a busy main street!
He would be pretty hard pressed to do this actually!

I also love the exchange Tintin and he has when Tintin's outside the main gates when Gibbon's is in his car.
The look and glare Tintin gives him is priceless!
No words are needed here haha.

I heard a BBC radio program a couple of years ago about China's rapid economic progress. In one section it compared audio sounds from a main square in Beijing. In the first clip you could hear the sound of birds and bicycles, in the second clip all you could hear was vehicle engines.

I guess that there weren't that many cars on the streets back in the 30s, so you probably would be able to hear someone speaking from the window of a main street.

I admit the point. The streets probably were a lot quieter in the 30s. But if you examine the picture there is a streetcar going by and Gibbons bionic ears surely could not have heard above that!!!
