This is something I've always wondered as I'm a massive fan of Marlinspike - it is where the hero's live!!

Does anyone have an idea of what it would have been worth?
Considering Herge wrote the adventure - both B/W and Colour in the 1940's what do you think it may have been worth?

It's truly a huge mansion with a large area of lawn and gardens. It would be possibly the best piece of land in the area in which it is situated. However this can be debated as even Professor Tarragon's property in 'Crystal Ball's is impressive also. Perhaps the area has many lush properties?
We never are privy to the exact number of rooms Marlinspike has are we? We are only shown key rooms depending on the adventures.

I was just wondering if anyone has a Real Estate/Property selling background here and may be able to shed light on the rough price a property of this scale would have sold for?

A cousin of mine who is an estate agent estimates that in today's money it would cost about £20 million (British pound sterling); that is about $32 million (US dollars) or €22.5 million euros.

I'm sure that we never really got to see all the rooms in Marlinspike.
Even some of the locations we are shown get seen only once, such as the Bird Brothers' office in Unicorn.
