It's not impossible that he switched from oil ("Broken Ear") to weapons ("Calculus Affair") back to oil ("Alph-Art"). I and a few people I know have switched from one to the other in the course of our lives.

Cutts_The_Butcher:
But does that necessarily make him the same Mr. Trickler?

Well, in one of the notes Hergé had for Alph-art, he plainly said of the character, "See The Broken Ear", which, as you already know, introduced Mr.Trickler.
So, it would appear to be the one and only Mr.Trickler in Alph-art.
And it's kind of unlikely to think that he's not Mr.Trickler and Castafiore just mis-said his name.
The only name that she ever pronounces wrong is Haddock's.
