As the floor is open and no question has been asked I thought I would take the liberty of setting the ball rolling again...

In which book is the chorus of the song “Farewell to Grog” sung and who sings it?

I don't have the book, but it might be in The Secret of the Unicorn, when the drunk pirates sing in the moonshine, while Francis leaves for the nearby island?

Good guess, but wrong I'm afraid...

How about The Crab With The Golden Claws where Tintin rescues Haddock from Allan and his thugs. They get trapped in the wine cellar, get drunk on wine fumes and start singing! Tintin in fact sings the line "For tonight we'll merry merry be..." etc.

I'm afraid I don't have the original anymore but in the 3 in 1 it's on P57 fr 6

Have I got one at last??

Ranko.

You have indeed Ranko, well done! In Crab with the Golden Claws Tintin sings part of the chorus from “Farewell to Grog”, a sea shanty about the end of liquor rations in the US Navy in 1862.

Over to you for the next question.

Typical.

My turn to post a question and my work sends me away for a couple of days with no chance of any internet fun :-(

So, I'm afraid I have to pass on the question given the time constraints. Sorry!

See you all again next week...

In that case, the question is open for anyone to set.
