Here's a slightly different type of question that should be familiar to anyone who has ever sat a maths test at school.

Find the next three numbers in the sequence, and explain your answer:

1/-, 2/11, 3/21, 4/08, 5/__, 6/__, 7/__.

Assuming the 1st item of the sequence (-) stands for 00:00 or 24:00 and the 3rd item (21) stands for 21:00,
the 5th should be 18:00, and the 7th 15:00.
Similarly, if the 2nd item (11) stands for 11:00 and the 4th (08) stands for 08:00,
the 6th should be 05:00.
In both P.M. & A.M. series, the rule of 'minus 3 hours' is applied.

To sum up the answer: (...) 5/18, 6/05, 7/15.
The next item is 8/2, then it starts again from the beginning.

Is that what you meant, Richard? A most 'spatiotemporal' question, indeed! Did you find such a revolving process in Tintin?

That's some admirable mathematics, yamilah, but I'm afraid you're way off.

Time for a clue: remember, this is a question based on the Tintin books! If I finished the sequence it would go upto 24/__.

Is it something to do with how many times he jumps in a car or something like that?

You shoulds have given the clue away before Yamilah spent a day trying to work it out lol

This seems to be an excellent question, but then why did you put a dot after 7/__. ?

Mr Cutts
I'd rather say 15 minutes!

Ah, that may have been a little misleading - very sorry about that. But yes, the sequence would go upto 24 ... I'm glad you like the question!

Considering 1/Soviets/- is excluded from the Quiz, 2/Congo/p.11 & 3/America/p.21 & 4/Cigars/p.8 all feature a frame that matches its book's cover image, the wanted sequence must be 5/Blue Lotus/p.19, 6/Broken Ear/p.46 and 7/Black Island/p.43!

Correct! Although for the interests of accuracy, p.55 of The Blue Lotus is more fitting as it shows Tintin emerging from the vase. The dragon on the wall on p.19 is still valid, though, so another point to yamilah and his turn to set the next question!
