It has been announced that the comic artist Ted Benoît has died of a stroke. He was seen as a natural heir to Hergé and Edgar P. Jacobs since he favoured the ligne claire which they popularised.

Most would know him best as the artist who worked on the relaunch of Jacobs' Blake & Mortimer series with The Francis Blake Affair and The Strange Encounter.

R.I.P. Ted. Both "The Francis Blake Affair" and "The Strange Encounter" are excellent Blake & Mortimer books.
