The thirty-eighth volume of Asterix is set to be launched on the 24th of October, in this, the 60th anniversary year for the series, and the title has been revealed to be La Fille de Vercingétorix ("The Daughter of Vercingetorix"), which will be released under the title of Asterix and the Chieftain's Daughter in English.

It's the fourth title from the team of Jean-Yves Ferri (script) and Didier Conrad (artwork).

The reason for dropping the name of Vercingetorix - an historical figure - from the title remains to be clarified, but is presumably either because the name was not thought to be well-enough known beyond France, or (my guess) to bring it into closer alignment to the name of Asterix and The Chieftain's Shield (in which it is revealed [Spoiler Alert!!] that the shield upon which Chief Vitalstatistix stands is that of Vercingetorix, purloined after the Battle of Alesia at which Vercingetorix surrendered to Caesar), making it more clearly a companion volume, if not a direct sequel.
