Hi, I live in Australia. Does anyone know where I can buy the covers of tintin books as posters (ie poster size roughly 60cm x 90cm). I want to frame them and put them on the wall.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I'm Australian also.
Check this out! (big poster site)
http://www.websmith.demon.co.uk/Posters/tintin-posters.htm
They seem to be a bit on the expensive side though (averaging about $33.70 a piece - more than the albums)
Hope this helps!

At the Tintin exhibit in Greenwich they were £12 each, so it seems about the going rate

Hi, joemoc - try looking in the site’s very own guide to shops carrying Tintin-themed merchandise. There will be sure to be something for you there.

Another source is to go to one of the Tintin exhibitions which take place reasonably frequently - especially on the continent (it’s good advice, even if you don’t want a poster!).

These often have a poster to buy, which is both a good souvenir, and also has a very finite shelf-life meaning they can be hard to source later.

Sadly the London Tintin Shop seems to have stopped carrying exhibition posters, and the Brussels one is hit or miss - sometimes it is well stocked, and at other times it might have nothing! But they both carry posters of the book covers, and regularly have prints and frameable postcards etc.

The UK Tintin shop sell a number of posters and silkscreens joemoc. Although their online catalogue is quite limited they do have others in-store in Covent Garden.

Bigger online poster stores like allposters also have a few of the book cover posters.

And of course there's the ubiquitous ebay...

Wow! Those prices on Allposters are very high! I’ve never seen the book-cover posters sell for more than about £15, and more often than not around the £10-mark, and they seem to have them between £17 and £26!! £70 for a framed one! Astounding! You can find 50cm x 70cm frames in placed like Ikea and Habitat, and even in larger Woolworths for under £20, so the combination of poster and frame shouldn’t set you back more than about £30.

I can’t understand why even on their site the price varies so much, as I don’t think that any of them are rarer that others, are they?

the guide for where to buy Tintin stuff might have to be updated, for instance there are several "l'album" shops in France that stock books and figurines, also, Serbia and Montenegro is no longer an entity, they're seperate now.
