Hi,

In the late 1970s my dad worked for a book warehouse (I live in Australia). At this time he acquired two sets of Tintin book store displays. The displays are cardboard cut-outs of characters, each with a hole at the top, presumably for hanging from a ceiling. A set comprises of one Tintin, one Snowy, one Captain Haddock and one Professor Calculus. The cardboard is about 3-4 mm thick. All except Snowy are about 70 cm in height. They are in near mint condition.

I don't know how to post a pic. Tintin is walking, holding a suitcase in one hand, and waving with the other, with his yellow coat draped across that arm. Haddock looks drunk and appears to be dancing a drunken jig. Calculus is trying to balance on roller skates, and Snowy is chewing on a bone.

Does anyone have any idea of the value of these?

Regards,

Richard

I'd think something like this is very hard to value. I'd suggest an auction house that deal with this type of shop memorabilia. If you put them on eBay, you run the risk of selling them at too low a price, unless you put your reserve high.
