Hello all!

I have a huge favor to ask of you folks. I know some of you have the BDM book which values Tintin collectibles. I was handed over a replica of the Tintin moon tank (looks beautiful BTW!). It was bought in the early 80s. There are no figures in the Tank. Any light you can shed on the value would be great! Around 30 cm in length.

Thanks!

As far as I know the BDM is a price guide for comic books and albums only ( BD= bande-desinée= comic strips), not comics-related merchandise.
Still, there is always Google, and I have come up with the following after only a couple of minutes searching…

My guess is that it may be an Aroutcheff “Char Lunaire” from 1986; there is a figure of €1 100 against it here, but I have no way of knowing if that is a representative figure for it.

jock123 is right and wrong at the same time !

The BDM does in fact list some "objets derivés" but, as of the present edition, no longer publishes estimated prices (the fluctuations of the market being too great).

However, the previous edition - 2007-2008 - has the following "cotes" for the three versions of the Aroutcheff tank:

1. sans personnage [without figurines]: 700 euros
2. avec personnages pixi [with painted lead figurines]: 1500 euros
3. avec personnages en résine [with resin figurines]: 1100 euros

Prices will almost certainly have increased since - I think that there was one in a recent auction but can't remember what it went for.

No change there then!

Interesting that there is such variation in the price for the Pixi lead figure version. The Aroutcheff stuff always looks gorgeous, while the Pixi stuff I have seen is generally lumpy and horrible - it would make the tank less desirable to me!

Thanks for the info!

Hi Folks,

Thanks all for the quick replies! Yes, luinivierge2010 I remember someone asking about a Tintin figure which they had accidentally broken for insurance purposes several months ago and people said they could find this off the BDM manual, hence my attempt in this forum at trying to find the value!

Thanks! this is very helpful. Yes, I did know about the objects du mythe website but that was not really a very good indication as you mention as it is just an estimate and usually does not help much for valuation. But the BDM info certainly helps a lot!

Wish these other things listed on the website were more affordable :-(

Cheers!
