Dear All,

I have about 10 Tintin books which I am guessing to be about 30 years old, printed in black and white and in Chinese.

I believe they are unofficial copies circulated around China because Tintin was banned (or publishers in Taiwan wouldn't/couldn't distribute them around mainland China).

They are not in especially good condition, but not too bad. They are small, about 12cm (height) x 16cm (wide). Does anyone know any more about them, going on the limited information I have provided?

Any idea of any worth, though I expect it is far to hard to tell. I can try and upload some photos if any interest is generated.

Thanks all,
Diabolo!

Moderator Note: Welcome, Diabolo. You will find that there are already several threads about Chinese pirate editions on the forums; please try these, and possibly others (you can use the “search the forums” function at the top right of the page) for information about your books.

As Harrock n Roll says in one of the threads, the feeling is that these books were produced in such quantity, and are fairly often found on eBay, that they are more of a curiosity than anything else, and are not likely to be worth very much.
