Hi All

I bought the Tintin en Noir et Blanc box set of 9 miniature black and white facsimile albums (published by Casterman with Bibliothèque de Moulinsart on the reverse) at some point in the 80s from the Tintin shop in Floral St.
The set is in as new condition for the books themseleves and very slight yellowing to the case (and I mean miniscule change).
I have only ever opened one of the books so they are all immaculate. I saw something elsewhere on this site possibly about this collection having been cellophaned wrapped but mine definitely wasn't when I bought it.

Also I have an official Tintin jumper which I have never worn (purchased mid 90s I think from Floral St again). It too is is immaculate condition.

Any ideas of value or any other comments I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks and love the site!

P.S. Favourite Tintin adventure from a stylistic point of view: Black Island

OK, can anyone just give me a ballpark figure? I want to know whetther or not it's even worth putting them on Ebay. I've never seen the set for sale anywhere.

I realize that you are keen to get a price on the box, but bumping your own thread is definitely not encouraged - it's better to accept that folk will give you information if they have it - if you don't get a response, it's usually because we just don't know.

I just did a simple search, using tintin noir et blanc on eBay, and four came up - priced between £44 and £88 - so it would appear that they aren't that rare.
There also aren't any bids for them, so the pricing might be too high/ demand not that great.

Part of this might be that the B&W books are far more common these days than back then, so if you were to get a facsimile of one of the original albums, a full-size replica is available fairly easily.

I can't offer any knowledge at all on estimated valuations.
But, as others have speculated elsewhere, the Tintin movie (being released in October) might lead to a renewal of interest in all things Tintin in the UK, and might therefore widen the potential customer base for any Tintin-related collectable stuff.

That's pure uninformed guesswork, I should stress, but if I had any Tintin stuff I was planning to sell on eBay or elsewhere, I think I'd be inclined to wait till after the film's come out.

Unless you think that the particular editions you have are likely to be republished in a flurry of post-movie Tintin enthusiasm? In which event, I suppose, the value of your old ones might drop!
