Looking to purchase a complete set of Tintin Moulinsart car/transport collection (Atlas models). I believe there were a total of 70 cars which have been released. If you are interested to sell your entire collection of Moulinsart cars, please contact me via email with your offer. My email address can be found in my profile.

The collection has to be mint and come with all original packaging and box.

Thanks!

Hey, if you are looking for the complete collection, try The Tintin Shop.

I think you'll find that they are listing far fewer than the 70 models in the collection, Henry.

Actually (and I am in no way involved in the sale!), I chanced across a listing on abebooks.co.uk, for a French dealer who is selling a complete collection, in boxes, with original certificates:

Rare collection complete 70 voitures Tintin / Editions Atlas

You will have to have deep pockets though, as he has put a price of £2,258.85 on it (although the postage is given as a surprisingly modest £7.46...)!

Yes this guys wants £2,258.85 for it - wow!!!
I purchased the whole collection between 2005 and 2009 at a total cost of £500.00, including freight from Europe to Australia.
I say cheaper to buy from Atlas.
Have I made a good investment or is he kidding himself?

I think you must have done very well - to get them at less than £7 each, including postage; I'm not certain I ever saw them so cheap.
I mean, the first six alone listed on the Tintin Shop page link above come in at £41.95 each, which is over £250 just for them...

I just looked at these figures and apologise as I found that the conversion I used was incorrect from Euros to pounds.
However I still made a good deal as I paid in total £1,600.00, making it £22.85 each.

Thanks for your replies. I've seen the listing on Ebay and frankly it's overpriced and much more than I'm willing to pay.

I'm still looking for the complete set so if anyone is keen to sell, drop a note here or send me an email. Cheers!

It's hard to know, surely, until several similar mint collections are bought and sold, what exactly a fair price should be?

Glendale reckons on having put his original collection together for £1,600.00, so we could take this as a base figure - presumably if he were to sell it, he'd be thinking of a mark up.
The bookseller (he may have advertised on eBay too, I don't know) has picked the figure of £2,258.85, a mark up of £658.58, which is still less than £10 per vehicle.

This may sound like a lot, but if you bear in mind those ones above which the Tintin Shop is selling for more or less twice what Glendale paid, it begins to look less like an outrageous deal.

Darknight, given that you are asking for both completeness and perfection of condition, what is a reasonable price, in your estimation (it doesn't have to be the same as what you are wiling to pay)?
